Walgreens or CVS?
On my 9 mile trek to work I pass the construction sites for two CVS stores.
These are the new kids on the block.
I've grown up with Walgreens. Where ever I've lived there was a Walgreens.
I'm curious........are they the same? Is there any reason to change my loyalty?

Re: Walgreens or CVS?
They are very similar but CVS stores are a bit cleaner inside and less cluttered. I compare Walgreens to Walmart and CVS to Target.
(Of course having a wife who is the managing pharmacist at a CVS makes me a bit partial.)

Re: Walgreens or CVS?
CVS took over the drug stores here. Savons Drug Store is now CVS. Savons was owned or is owned by Albertsons grocery chain...all confusing, there is also another called Osco. Many of these drug stores are just other store names under the same company

Re: Walgreens or CVS?
I prefer Walgreens only because I have always been very impressed with how organized their pharmacy system is. I switched to Walgreens from Eckerd back in the day, and just stuck with them. In our area, both CVS and Walgreens are clean and well maintained.

Re: Walgreens or CVS?
CVS is on the correct side of the street for me to stop on the way home, so we have started shopping there more.

Re: Walgreens or CVS?
Folks like me who live in little bitty towns have neither walgreens nor cvs to choose from. It's either local pharmacies or travel 25 miles to walmart pharmacy or 45 miles to find anything else.

Re: Walgreens or CVS?
I can't tell any difference between the two. I'll stop at whichever one is most convenient.
Around here they *always* build them nearly across from each other. If you see a Walgreens, look around, you'll see a CVS.

Re: Walgreens or CVS?
We use Kroger pharmacy because of the gas perks - 2 prescriptions get you 10 Cents/gallon off Kroger gas. Our Walgreens has issues with confirming insurance coverage, so I just don't bother with them. CVS has just arrived in the Cordova area so we'll see how they fare against Walgreens.
