Banning Kids
So we know that the restaurant in Pennsylvania placed a ban on kids under 6. In this ABC.com article, we see that an airline recently banned kids in their first class, and we already have plenty of kid-free resorts, and even I've heard talk about kid-free beaches!
A lot of folks are offended, a lot think it was a great move. What do you think? Do kids annoy you in public places to the point that you find yourself wishing they weren't allowed? Do you think it's rude to ban kids from public places? Would you continue to patronize a business that banned children?
Sound off...

Re: Banning Kids
If my kids weren't welcome, neither was I.

Restaurants, resorts, and other privately owned business are not public places. It may not be good business practice to ban kids in many cases, but they have the right. As an example we have been taking vacations to "kid free" resorts through both Apple and Sandals and it is wonderful!

Re: Banning Kids
maybe they want adult places with sin???????
Kids make most people behave.
public places should be open to everybody.
private places are different because they may be a place of sin.
No kids allowed, no me.
why??????
well if it is not fit for kids why would I, an adult go??????
No kids allowed then it is a place of sin as far as I am concerned.

Because it is not appropriate for your 4 year old son or daughter it is a sin? Do you read from the Songs of Solomon when they were/are that age? Or do you skip over the, as Monty Python would say, the naughty bits? Is it appropriate for young children to attend classes meant for young adults when teaching on human sexuality? Or is THAT all a sin because little 5 year Suzie should not be there, thus is a sin for all?
Do you also think that all vacation resorts need to be open to children of all ages?

Re: Banning Kids
lol, wow, ummm ok .
so anyway. As Randy has stated if they are private establishments then they have that right. Personally there times me and my wife will take a much needed weekend (having 3 girls) to ourselves. So yeah, when your trying to get a way from hollaring, screaming, fighting, arguing and the constant, "mine, mine, mine" then thats the last thing you want to hear.
Its not about sin, its about offering services to those who may want to get away and have some peace and quiet. If what happens between a married couple due to the sudden engulfing of tranquility is sin............ then we're all in trouble.

Yes. Ban kids. Nothing ruins my evening more than misbehaving kids in a restaurant. If Jack wasn't there to calm me down I'd probably punch the parents.

Not quite. For instance, some places are just for the mature crowd. Does not denote sinful places. If you love the beach, and either have no children or have finished raising your children, you might just want some quiet time on the beach... with a good book and a picnic basket. Can't really enjoy the peace and serenity of the beach when there are noisy kids running, kicking sand, splashing water, whining, crying, screaming, giggling, begging, tattling, etc. Or some may not want to pay good money to have an experience ruined by kids - even if they're not bad kids. Like dining at a restaurant that didn't allow kids, sunbathing on a beach that didn't allow kids, and who on earth wouldn't prefer an airplane that didn't allow kids?

Re: Banning Kids
There was a restaurant that my husband and I frequented when our children were small and when we went.....they weren't invited! They got to go for their 18th birthday! Let's face it...it's hard on a 2 year old to sit quietly in a nice, upscale restaurant for an hour or more.
