Global Network Conference
Ok, I'm at the GNCM conference in Phoenix and it's been amazing!! The speakers have been phenomenal - Robert Morris is absolutely life-changing. His insights on sacrifice and giving are wonderful. If you have not read "The Blessed Life", get the book and devour it. I read it a while back, but I'm going to re-read it now.
It's been so good to see so many friends from our past and to hang out and fellowship with them. Every night after church, they have a huge catered dinner in an air conditioned tent. Very nice. It's at our friends (the Goldsberry's) church in Tempe, AZ.
I'm actually at the hotel today though - Eddie is at the morning sessions. I am having to review a bunch of paperwork for the Philippines. We leave here on Friday and head to Davao City, Philippines for meetings, and I have a lot to get done before then.
I just wanted to check in and say that the services and worship times have been awesome. Wish you all were here!

I'm at the Buttes - a Marriott built into the side of a mountain. It's a great place, and cheap, believe it or not!

The first time we came down here to house hunt and meet my wifes future employer they set us up in the place for three nights. I know it well! You can see several baseball fields just to the West.

Yes, you can see them playing ball from our hallway! Pretty cool. I get lost in here though - it's huge. Free breakfast is nice, but I've eaten way too much.

Re: Global Network Conference
The Global Conference is streaming live right now again (10/26/11 at 9:51 pm CST). I just remembered to tune. I don't know where they are at. Might be the end or the middle!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Sorry we flew out Friday morning early for the Philippines. I'm in Tokyo right now, waiting for our next flight. Wish we could have had time to get together.
