Help plz... WHY?
Okay I don't get on here much anymore let alone post anything. But I've had a certain topic come up so many times in the last 2 wks and I've personally been dealing with it over the last month or so. The question is "WHY?" If God is all knowing, then why?
Why do children have to go thru bad experiences? Being molested? Emotional scars? Etc... if God knew all things why doesn't he strike someone dead before they murder someone espec a child? I understand He gave us a free will, and didn't want us to be robots serving Him. But why did He even put that tree in the garden if He knew Adam and Eve was going to rebel and billions would end in hell for eternity? Why are people even born if they are going to end up in hell anyways? My Pastor just said a week or so ago that God knew He would have to come die for us even before Adam and Eve ever sinned, then why even create mankind? WHY??????????? ANY SCRIPTURE ON THIS ANYONE?

Re: Help plz... WHY?
Ok, the billions in hell thing? You don't know this. God is your Father; but he is a very complex being, and growing up to perfection is a difficult path. Trust that your concept of hell, which does not even exist yet, is incomplete. Trust also that God is your Father, and has a perfect way, which, while remaining unclear to us and hotly debated in its particulars, rarely involves the conception of hell that you have portrayed anymore. Everyone gets many, many chances to straighten up; you get a new chance every day, every second. So, to dwell on something that hasn't happened yet, possibly thousands of years off, undoubtedly only dimly understood by you (or me, or you) is unfruitful.
You have unfortunately just gotten a little too much of the condemnation, common in our society, and not enough of the creation. God is your loving Father, who created all things; see how this statement makes your assertions here pale; He is not the destroyer. Yes, there will be a hell someday, after a Lord's Day, a thousand years of peaceful reign by Christ.
See that you problems are enough to take one day at a time, and just go be a light.

Re: Help plz... WHY?
I wasn't so much condeming myself or anyone else. Its not so much even the fact of ppl going to hell. I've been approached by my mom my bro my best friend my co worker about if God knows all things then why does He allow certain things to happen? This has all been in the last couple of wks without anyone else knowing about the other approaching me. Also the word of God does state there will be people scarly saved.

Your question is one of the most difficult to answer. I can only say that when sin entered the world evil followed it. No one can answer your question on why does God allow what he allows, they can only give you a theory.
Someone once said that alien beings brought us here, from what I have seen in the so called Christians world sometimes I want to think they are right, but, I still walk by faith knowing that the day of the Lord will come and all that work evil in this life shall be rewarded in the next.

Re: Help plz... WHY?
Hi Sandra,
I have found that when people ask these kinds of questions they are usually making some kind of decision regarding God and their relationship with Him so it might be good for you to try to pinpoint what it is they are struggling with. An open ended question like 'Why do you ask?" may gain insight. Knowing whether or not there is a present problem or if these are just philosophical questions might make you a better able to answer in a helpful way. I am glad that your family and friends feel that they can come to you, many people struggle with life's biggest questions alone.
I find it is human nature to question God, especially about things that offend our sense of fairness.
The truth is that the world is corrupt. We can see the corruption that was brought into the world by sin everywhere we look. Yet we still appreciate life. Even those who suffer struggle to survive, understanding that life itself has value. Working in medicine I am often astounded at to what lengths a person will go, prolonging suffering, to gain a little more time alive. This is most often not motivated by fear of death but rather the understanding that life has value for it's own sake.
Suffering builds character. I do not mean this in a trite way, nor am I speaking as someone who has never suffered. There was abuse in my childhood, even the kind you mention in your first post. As strange as it may sound to someone who did not live it, that abuse did not break me but made me stronger, made me examine my life early on and decide what was important to me. It ensured that I would not allow my own children to be abused. Did I want to be abused? No. Would I rather have seen my abuser dead without the chance to repent and avoided the abuse? No. God is always able to take what is meant for evil and turn it to good.
Millions, billions in hell? No, I really don't see that. I do not believe that a soul is ever created simply for destruction but believe that all will have a chance at eternal life before the end of the age. I have read a few interesting studies on this over the years. One book that comes to mind that was a very easy read is called "Love Wins". I think I read it in a day. I am sorry to say I can't remember the name of the author. What I do remember was that although it did not line up 100% with my beliefs it gave another view of God, His mercy and power, and it addressed many of the concerns you have expressed here about hell.
Peace to you dear.

Re: Help plz... WHY?
I just saw Isaiah 45:7 posted on this Forum yesterday...
"I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."
I know that's probably a very general scriptural reference, but it pretty well sets everything in place for why things happen, both good and bad...
No, not one person deserves to be beaten, abused, molested, etc (and anything else mentioned/not mentioned). However, I firmly believe if one who's been down that road can treat such a circumstance as a testimony of God's deliverance and sustain for them, and use it for His glory to help others who have experienced it, then I would probably use that as my answer for why it happened...
It's okay to ask "Why?" But, staying there usually does more harm than good, which is why I'd err on the side of God's will and let Him use the unfortunate as a testimony for someone else dealing with similar situations to prove He is our Ultimate Help...
He is also the Ultimate Judge for those who harm another person, regardless of what the harm is. He affords them the same opportunity to repent and be redeemed just like the rest of us. As maddening as it can be, He's a just God. Although society places ranks on sin, God doesn't. That's just Him. Sin is sin. Unfortunately, some people are the direct product of one's sinful act. And God will take care of both sides (the victim and the offender) for His benefit...
Just my thoughts...
