Latest update on Walt

For those of you who prayed so much for Walt 6 years ago, I thought maybe you'd be interested in the latest developments...........

Can you believe it was May 13, 2006 when his aortic aneurysm ruptured on the table and GOD preserved his life. I am still 200% convinced that it is ONLY because God answered all the prayers that we still have Walt with us today and I give Him honor and glory and praise and thanks for that all the time.

Soooo.......... tomorrow (Monday, May 1st) is Walt's final day at his job. Considering that the doctors didn't even believe he was gonna live. And then told me that if he lived, he would be a vegetable for the rest of his life... I think it's pretty awesome that he's been able to work as a Civil Engineer for these past 6 years. That is all part of the huge miracle. But the time has come to put an end to his working days. Walt has been slowing down alot for the last couple of years. And for the last 6 months I have seen a steady decline. He sleeps more than anyone I know. On Saturday, it is nothing for him to sleep until 11:00, then get up and eat a bite of lunch and go back to the recliner by 12:30 where he will sleep until 5:30 or so. Then he gets up, eats supper and is laying down in bed by 8:00. By 10:30 he's ready to turn in for the night.

I am NOT complaining! After all he's been thru, this is fine. But it does make it hard to work a job. So he is going to be going on disability as of Monday.

I was very concerned about how things would work out financially. Still am concerned if I am being honest (which I am). But I've been praying about it and finally just told God I would have to hand it all to Him and trust Him to work things out. So Saturday I opened the mail and guess what! First of all, we got a notice from the IRS that we had claimed a smaller refund than they thought we should get, so they adjusted our refund and gave us the higher amount! (how often does THAT happen!!) and then I opened our water bill and it says we owe them MINUS 77.27. Hello?? They owe US money?? WOW!!!! I know it's not alot. But it's enough to assure me that God is still working on our behalf. Thank you, Jesus!!

So there you go. That's the latest at our house. Thanks for listening. And thanks AGAIN for praying!

That's wonderful Margie! It is a very cool thing when one can be thankful and see God's hand in small ways. He indeed is GOOD! Tell Walt congrats on a great career accomplished - and sleep an extra hr for me please.

Thanks for the update on Walt! Lots of prayers went up for that man a few years back from your "invisible friends" on the forum. We learned to love him through you.

Re: Latest update on Walt

Appreciate the update on Walt. It is amazing he has been able to lead a productive and rewarding life these past six years after being in such as dire medical situation.

I am praying that things work out financially with the disability and that you guys are able to enjoy his retirement.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
