Is Your church Locked?

You might consider the hypocrisy in this, and that if your ministry is hedged with protection, anything resulting from an unlocked church would either be sent from God, a manifestation of the church, or both. Pretty hard to smoke crack in a church if someone's busy praying in it. Just sayin'.

You are making the case that people should be praying in the assembly hall 24/7 then?

Good grief.

Re: Is Your church Locked?

After being broken into twice while locked our church now is not only locked but has an alarm system!

(I agree that the premise of this thread is somewhat misguided)

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Is Your church Locked?

Our church building is in a poor section of downtown Hamilton. Some times during the day the pastor, the secretary, the treasurer, or maintenance people may be there. The building is also used by a social agency in the city (maybe the county) at certain times during the week. But, other than that the building is kept locked. We have been broken into before. There are instruments, food, and a sound system with equipment there.

obviously we are talking about the building in which the church meets, what some of us would call "the church house"
