prayer request for my son
I don't know how to begin talking about my situation, it is extremely hard for me to even think about it. I have come to realize that my teen age son is struggling with homosexuality. He is baptized in the name of Jesus and filled with the Holy Ghost at a very young age. I do not understand how or when this began but I do know that he has to overcome these feelings some how. He has not acted out on these feelings but I do feel that he has been secretly fighting against them. He does not want to feel this way but how can I help him. He loves God and is actively involved in the church youth group. When he is at church praying and singing I can see that he does not struggle with it, it is only when he is at home and at school. I have taken everything away that could be a doorway to sin, for example the television and internet. I get up in the mornings and intercede for him by praying, singing and worshiping. I know he needs spiritual support during this time in his life. I have talked to him about the consequences of sin and have read to him the scriptures that pertain to sexual immorality and homosexuality. He knows these sins will send him to hell, no doubt. What should I do? Who should I tell? There are so many questions running through my mind.

Re: prayer request for my son
This is not an easy battle to fight! Which of course you know, as you have posted here, and I know your heart must be breaking.
I know that there is deliverance from homosexuality, but first you must determine the root cause, and when and where those feelings began in his heart. He at some point in his life had come in contact with a spirit of homosexuality, and you MUST find out where this originated in order to help him. The problem must first be known before it can be dealt with. It could be that there was someone in his life who did something to him. This would be the first place I would start, is just encouraging him to talk with you about it and then praying in Jesus name over that spirit.
I read a book written by a lady named Peggy Joyce Ruth, called "Tormented, Eight Years and Back" ... You can find it on amazon. There are stories in there of people being delivered from homosexuality. She is a Holy Ghost filled lady who God delivered out of much torment. It is a wonderful read. They are based out of Brownwood, Texas.
I will be praying for you and your son. This is every parent's nightmare! But because of the blood of Jesus, and the work on Calvary, there is no situation impossible for our great God!

Re: prayer request for my son
Thank you so much for your prayers. I see now that it is an attack from the enemy because there is a higher calling upon his life. This was confirmed this week during Sunday service. As the pastor did the altar call he called out the spirit of homosexuality, depression and fear. He said some of us are being held down by the enemy because he is afraid if we realize our destiny we will shake this world. The whole church made their way up to the altar and as we were praying God took hold of my son. I proclaim freedom in the name of Jesus for all those struggling with homosexuality.

Re: prayer request for my son
Let him know that no matter his struggle God will accept him and love him. God created him to be who he is and there should be no judgement passed on him. He certainly needs to know that no matter what his family will support and love him.
God bless him for having the strength to be so honest and God give him the serenity to accept himself.

Re: prayer request for my son
My son knows it is completely wrong and against God to live a homosexual lifestyle. He was baptized in the name of Jesus at the age of 7 and was also filled with the Holy Ghost at a very young age. We have been in church all of our lives so I know very well that in this world we will be tempted and tried. I love him enough to remind him of the consequences of sin. My children know there is a hell for those that choose to disobey. Homosexuality is rampant in almost every school, even our children are being taught that it is OK to live this way. The bible tells us:
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 - "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God." (NIV).
Romans 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
1 Timothy 1:9-10 9 Knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10 For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine.
Jude 1:7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

I will pray for your son. It's not an easy battle, and it's almost impossible to break free once that line is crossed.

Have faith, nothing is impossible with Christ even if we cross the lines of sin. How many times do we sin each and every day and God ALWAYS makes a way out. Looking back I see that it was a lie from the devil. My son has found his gift, he sings beautifully and is now in the choir. I prayed for God to put a desire for a christian girl in his heart and my prayers were answered. Don't ever give up even if it looks hopeless. God can and will make a way out. Homosexuality is one of many sins that God can set us free from.

Re: prayer request for my son
There is not much of anything that I can say that will help, but one thing I can do is pray for you and your son!
My heart aches for you because I have a brother that had the same issues, and I remember how heart-broken I was when I found out.
I will tell you this. The most important thing you can do for your son is let him know up front that you love him unconditionally. No matter what, you'll always be there for him. He needs to know this before he'll listen to the other things.
