Riding and thinking...

The quest to bring God's lost earthly family back home is often overwhelming however we press on...like the song says, Onward Christian soldiers...the drum beat is onward...never turn back...someone asked me at camp meeting, sister Alvear have you ever thought about coming home...I said yes many times temptation has knocked at my door...however the CALL is always there...It is like Jack London's call of the wild...
I know the harassing temptations of the mission field, the loneliness of a strange land working among people that often do not even understand why you are even there...But there comes a time in our life we must make up our minds to blindly follow on...Not everyday is full of joy and great reports however we must tuck some things away in our hearts and keep climbing...
It seems the older I get the harder it gets...The adventure of sleeping in rest areas due to lack of funds does not hold the same adventure as it once did...Yet along the way sacrifices are made...but GOD always prepares someone around the curve to bring a smile, to give us a hot meal, a nice bed and fellowship.
He that called has been faithful. So dear one hold on...We live in a day when so many are letting go. Paul wrote to young Timothy and said, the end cannot come till there be a falling away first...
My phone rang the other day and it was someone telling about one of God's gallant soldiers that had fell out of the ranks...Oh, how I weep to see fallen soldiers...
I think of those that die as if they were never anointed... Get a death grip on Jesus...follow your call... Don't let it be said of you that you came so close...yet were lost...

A pastor's wife said to me. Sister Alvear I sat with another pastor's wife and we counted 30 couple (pastors and their wife's) that have failed in the last little while....Dear ones there is an assault on the ministry...Make up your mind you are not going to just step out of Ur but you are going on to another country...

A terrible thought to have gone for many years on the path to the kingdom and yet wind up falling away. We are made partakers of Christ IF we hold fast our confidence till the end. Yet it happens. The enemy departs for a season but comes back with new ways to tempt the children of light. Only a passionate love for Jesus and steadfast vision of eternal life can get us through. No one can take us out of his hand. Only we.......can depart.

Amen.
"Weeding out the weenies"
in boot camp comes to mind;
we just have satan for a drill sergeant.
