Who You Are–What You Have Received.

I think, (by observation) that many Pentecostal’s are like I was in my teen’s, when I received the Holy Ghost.

I thought, “Ah, now all I have to do, is go to church, listen to the preacher, dress right, try to be good. And I’m going to heaven.”

Isn’t that it?

In my late 20's or early 30's God begin to stir me up, thru reading my Bible at home.
“

Ye shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you.”

POWER FOR WHAT?

For many it is ‘home-church-work”—home-church-work”—‘home -church-work’ While the world is going to ‘the lake of fire’ in a handbasket, downhill. And now I see the Pentecostal Denomination, in the same fix.

The Pastor, that we had in my teens’ taught, “ you don’t go out preaching to the sinners. That’s my job. You bring them to church and I will do the preaching.”
Is that TRUTH? No.

Was these scripture’s just for the 12?

Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover

With two or three witness’s let every word be established. Did the early church do that?

Acts 8:4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word

Who was scattered? The saints. The Apostles stayed in Jerusalem.

God did not give us Holy Ghost Power, to be squashed down, pushed down and shut up.
God did not give us Holy Ghost Power, to sit in church, looking at the back of someones head.

I have observed over the years, that most Pentecostal men are too busy making a living to study God’s word at home. They only know what is taught by their Pastor. Which does not equip them to serve. On that note, the Holy Ghost does the equipping, but we must make ourselves available, to show ourselves approved by rightly dividing the word.

Pentecostal women have the same problems, with the added burden of being bound by dress codes. Yes, Just as the Law was binding to Israel, any man-made laws, i the church, are just as binding.
How many thousands of sermons have been preached about women’s dress and hair, while they should have been teaching them, how to win the lost? And most of all how to love as 1 Cor 13.

So are we to dress in skimpy, seductive clothing like the world? ABSOLUTELY NOT.
And I have seen, some Pentecostal women, dress’s long, long sleeves, skin tight and just as seductive as the world. And no way was I intending to get on this subject, so will drop it here.

I’ve been one of the worst offenders of all, in that, knowing what God had revealed to me, I mostly kept my mouth shut, until I finally left the church. Because, the few times that I spoke up, I was squashed down.

But this is not about me, it’s about you. Do you REALLY understand, that if you have been filled with the Holy Ghost, you have, “God’s divine nature’ inside of you? You have the same Power inside of you, that the early church had.

2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust

Did God give you His divine nature, just to keep quit? Just for the purpose of ‘home-church- work?

With that ‘divine nature’ He gave you gifts of the Spirit.
Who is supposed to guide the church? THE HOLY GHOST.
God gave His gifts to those, that have the Holy Ghost in order to guide the church. Every church should have all 9 gifts, not just speaking in unknown tongues and interpretation. Every home group should have all 9 gifts. If they don’t they should pray until God sends them.

Every member should be free to speak in church, i the right order, and let the others judge.

How should a meeting go?

1 Corinthians 14:26 How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.
27 If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
29 Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.
30 If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.
31 For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
32 And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.
33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

23 If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?
