VCF in Cincinnati, Ohio
From November 1992 until spring (around Easter) 2006 I was a member of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Springdale (near Cincinnati) Ohio. The church was known as the Cincinnati Vineyard. Now there are about 25 churches in this area of SW Ohio which have sprung from the Cincinnati Vineyard.
During the time I was there I served as a small group leader, served on several prayer teams, taught in a couple of seminars, and served as a POC (Pastor On Call).
I just received an email which described some of the things the Cincinnati Vineyard accomplished in 2011. This is what they did and how they served the Cincinnati area through their Healing Center:
It is the relentless manpower of the Healing Center's dedicated volunteers that provides over 40 services including, but not limited to, food and clothing, job skills training and job search assistance, auto repair, mentoring, financial counseling, tutoring, prayer, life skills training and more.
In 2011, more than 400 guests benefited from the Adult Education classes taught by our trained volunteers. More than 200 guests accept the offer of prayer from our teams each month.
Additionally in 2011, The Healing Center and its volunteers helped:
117 people avoided foreclosure or eviction
350 people avoided having utilities disconnected
Provide free tax services to 400 people, generating over $500,000 in refunds
Repair 310 donated bicycles which were then provided to Healing Center guests
All in all, Healing Center volunteers provided a total of 50,454 services and referrals to 15,968 individuals in 2011, an average of 1,328 unique households each month.
