Daughter Alanna's Big Day Thursday Jan 31, 2013
My two girls are in high school, Kristin is in grade 9 & Alanna is in grade 8 even though there is almost two years in age difference between them.
Kristin has a birthday in January & Alanna in November.
Alanna is in intermediate band & plays the flute.
A few weeks ago, in band class, the teacher got the kids to sing the national anthem to prepare for the assembly.
He heard Alanna & was wowed of his feet--she is good!
He said, can you sing Amazing Grace?
She did, and he said that in Grade 9 she can join choir & be in junior or Senior as she is that good.
She & Kristin are praise singers at Church but it is really Alanna that has a real talent for music.
Well, to make a long story short, she is trying out for Gladstone Idol.
Gladstone is the name of the school she attends, named for a former British Prime Minister.
She isn't doing this for fame or fortune but as a witness.
She chose Michael W Smith's song off of his Worship CD called, "Draw Me Close To You!"
Pray that she is annointed & sings to the glory of God!
People need to realize that God is real & that there is hope!
Thanks for the prayers & God Bless!
Ron

Sounds like a wonderful opportunity to sing about the Lord!
Maybe you can share a video with us of her singing this song.. Would love to hear it

I could hum a few bars, no?
Oh okay, I will see what I can do, although the first stage is closed to most everybody.
I do have a cell phone video of her in practice.

Not you dingbat (sorry 'bout that admins)
We want to hear your little girl or girls who would have the superior vocal cords in the family.
How soon can you 'you tube' the songs?

Very cool. The best of luck to her and I will say a prayer that all goes well. I am sure it will be a great experience for her.
I have a very musically talented daughter and know how much I enjoy the gifts God gave her. I also have the pleasure of getting to listen to my daughter as a praise and worship singer at church.

Titus2woman on AFF
"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
