If you could choose exactly what you want from ...
A thought that has been in my mind for awhile now got me to thinking about how others may think or respond about this question. I will answer later as I have thought about it a lot and don't want to keep you from doing your own reflecting on this question.
If you could choose exactly what you want from your God what would you choose?

Re: If you could choose exactly what you want from
Those things that He spoke to me in prayer about my daughter and grand-girls He would confirm to me in an audible voice.

Re: If you could choose exactly what you want from
I've often thought about this question too, Esther. I guess if there is anything I could ask of the Lord, it would be about eternity, and if I am on the right path to spend it with Him. That really is the burning question I live with each day, am I living pleasing to my Lord, and am I living my life in such a way that I have pleased Him? That would be the one thing I would want to ask Him, if I could.

Re: If you could choose exactly what you want from
Ok I see I didn't explain it very well, so I will go first.
I would want a God that is truthful. I would not want Him to tell me something important to find out later it was just a lie.
I would want a God that is the same and changes not. Can you imagine being told today to do one thing and tomorrow something totally different.
I would want a God that doesn't show favoritism. I would want the same benefits as everyone else.
I would want a God who loves me in spite of myself.
Ok that is just for starters. What would be important to you?

Oh, I'm sorry that I misunderstood your question.
Well, if I could choose a God, I can't see how I could choose anything different from the one and only God there is. Perhaps I would choose a god that would never have created evil to begin with? Maybe one who never allowed a "satan" to exist... I don't know.
But... then thinking this through... and considering that without the existence of evil, then love would never have meant to us what it does, because of the fact that evil exists...

Re: If you could choose exactly what you want from
I would want a God who is able to find His way to the hearts of all people... One that when he says 'For God so loved the world...' He meant that He was able to accomplish what is in the next few lines of those verses...
Oh wait... I have that God... I am just surrounded by those who can not clearly see Him.
So with that in mind...I would want that we could all take off the dark glasses of of 1Cor 13:12 and live fully and with confidence right now.
