For the last 5 years, Jack's cardiologist has told us we need to prepare for Jack to be on a pacemaker once we do this proceedure to stop the tachycardia.
In addition to very persistant SVT, Jack has some physiology that is different in his heart. This is not really a bad thing and it is not life impacting, but the extra vein he has (LSVC if you want to google it) ties into the heart in the same area where the eletrical pathway is. That shrinks the area where the good node and bad node could be.
The Drs have to use energy to distroy the bad node. and if they are too close, that means they damage the good one too.
This has always been the thought. Well once they got inside they found the distance was greater than expected between the two areas and thus were able to take care of the bad area without damaging the good one.
we are at about a 95% chance that this will cure the issue. that 5% is because Jack didnt just have a bad wire, he had a cluster of bad wires. This was also a big concern because of how persistant his tachycardia was. but every day we go without any occurance, moves that number higher. I really feel like he would have gone into SVT by now since he is no longer on any meds.... The Dr. said as much.
Jack is almost back to normal. still a little pain in both groins where they entered with the cath's. but Motrin is working for that. We have a harder time slowing him down than worrying about his pain etc...
We are blessed. We are greatful to all our friends and families who have prayed for us, held us up and stood for us when we didnt think we could stand ourselves.
Monday was a hard day, but we could feel the prayers lifting us. We had gotten an early report that they had gotten the bad wire, without damaging the good one. then we got another report that they had seen something else that needed to be dealt with. Then the reports stopped for more than an hour.
that is when it got scary. but then I got to talk to one of the Drs. face to face and he was just very positive and explained what was happening. (that whole cluster thing) And that it was still very far from the good wire that makes the heart beat. No worries about pacemaker and he was doing great....etc....
That was when we knew it would be ok. we were told it would be a 3 to 4 hour deal. It turned out to be 5 hours.
In the end, my wild man is home with a great heart and no more medicine to worry about. When he starts kindergarden this fall, we wont live in fear.
God is truely good to us.

We have no idea about the gift of good health, until we suffer, or one we love suffers with health struggles. This health struggle with Jack affects everyone in your family, and circle of friends, and wow! What a praise report this is to be able to share with everyone the goodness of the Lord in the midst of this situation!
