Veterans Day Tribute
My dad is a veteran of the Army. He served during the Korean War but did notmsee combat. He is a hero to me for many reasons but I appreciate his service to our country.
His oldest brother, Lawrence, was killed in January 1945 in Belgium as the Nazis were retreating from the Battle of the Bulge.
His second eldest brother, Lloyd Jr., served in the South Pacific in WWII, saw action at Iwo Jima, Okinawa, Guam and Saipan. He survived and lived a long and prosperous life. He died at the age of 89 this past September.
His father, Lloyd Sr., served in WWI in France. He came home, farmed in Southeast Oklahoma, married, and fathered nine children.
I salute the veterans in my family. God bless the men and women who have paid the price for freedom and maintaining the peace!

When a newspaper posed the question, "What's Wrong with the World?" G. K. Chesterton reputedly wrote a brief letter in response: "Dear Sirs: I am. Sincerely Yours, G. K. Chesterton." That is the attitude of someone who has grasped the message of Jesus.
