Iceland let their banks eat the losses, defaulted on their debt, nationalized their banks, forgave mortgages and prosecuted bankers; all without US media coverage. wow!!!

If it were covered... we might have had a push in America to do the same.

So what about people like me who were forced to sell to avoid forclosure? The lady I sold the house to gets it for free? How is that "fair"?

Re: Media Blackout Of Revolution In Iceland!!!
Originalist, surely you are aware that in the Icelandic model, you would not have lost your house; or even your equity in it, apparently.
It took me a while to come around to this; but RT News--which may be 'jammed' in your market, as someone is going to some extreme lengths to ensure that RT is jammed as much as possible--while definitely somewhat radical, and not unbiased, is at least a source of news that you won't get in American media now. Larry King has really flowered there, i think.

I sold my house at fair market value, but I would have preferred to hold onto it. If our government decided today to pay off everybody's mortgages, then I would feel ripped off.

Well, she has paid on it for 3 years, but the next 27 years of her mortgage would be dismissed.
