House Cooling Party?

So... what's that? I was driving home from running errands and saw a sign that said HOUSE COOLING PARTY with balloons, and an arrow. Looked it up on google, and whadyaknow.... instead of a house warming party, there are now house cooling parties - parties for when you move out of your house!

LOL! Anyone else heard of this, or been to one?

I have to say... I've moved a lot in my life, and throwing a home cooling party is definitely not one of the things I would want to do in the midst of usually a huge mess! LOL!!!!

I know that no matter how fancy a name you give it, I would not be giving a house cooling party in the middle of the madness that happens when you are moving!!!! LOL

well, i guess there's more than one way to look at that--if you were moving away from several close friends, it's maybe a good way to bond a final time, update contacts, and get your heavy stuff loaded at the same time. Dinner thrown in. For many who frequently move, it's not so much 'madness,' maybe, either. I prolly go through less grief moving than most do for a camping weekend.

True. I usually do put together a brisket n beans dinner for whoever helps us on moving day. I guess I could get real fancy-like the next time we move, and call it a house cooling party, and invite the whole neighborhood, lol!

Must be nice to travel light! Add kids to the mix, and you get madness! LOL!
