Chapter Seven

Wherein There Is Life

And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand. And I heard the number of them.

John makes a huge leap here. In a single sentence; we’ve gone from four angels, to an army of two-million horsemen. The loosing of the four angels would seem to be a spiritual event. But the sudden appearance of this massive army, tempts us to make it a physical one. Many have cited the Chinese; who boast an army of foot soldiers two-million strong, and who hail from the East.

Yet, these two-million horsemen, are in a vision seen by John. For them to be a physical event; we would need some ridiculous evolutionary changes, in a very short time. Currently, we have no horses with lion’s heads, and serpentine tails. But here at the sixth trumpet, we need two-million of this new, tri-breed specie. Moreover, this new horse must also spit fire, and smoke, and brimstone…for by these three elements, two-million will slay two and one-half billion souls.

Barring, then, some freak development in the equestrian line, the two-million lion-serpent-horses are more apt to be a spiritual, and not a physical, event. They appear suddenly, as a direct result of four spiritual angels being loosed. They spring up in the spiritual, vision-world that John is beholding. And he beholds them as he stands in heaven, not on Patmos.

Clearly, the slaying of one-third of men is a physical event. One that demands organization, structure, planning, and chain of command. And foot soldiers. Many, many foot soldiers.

The transition from a spiritual army of two-million; to a tidal wave of death across the planet, could probably happen in any…or all…of three ways. Through the spirits of men; just as…on a smaller scale…with the riotous Sabeans and Chaldeans. Through the forces of nature, as with the winds that killed Job’s children. And…given leave by my Lord…through the microbes and viruses and disease inherent in his microscopic creation, as with Job’s boils and sores.

The finer details of that spiritual-to-physical transition, remain a wonderful mystery. A mystery we should confront, if we are to know how the horses’ fire, and smoke, and brimstone, are revealed in our daily, physical lives. For it is not the riders, nor the horses; but by these three elements, that the third part of men are slain. From the mouth of a horse…with the head of a lion…and a serpentine tail.

In the spiritual arena…where John is…an army of two-million really shouldn’t surprise us. Recall that the Prince of Persia was a spiritual prince. Such a lofty title suggests myriad ranks beneath him, in the business and affairs of Persia. And if Persia and Greece have their princes; then so does every country, large or small. So bold and powerful was Persia’s prince, that he dared hinder the very Gabriel of God, from reaching the prophet.

We then learn, that some angels are more powerful than others. A mightier angel is immediately dispatched to help Gabriel. One has to wonder what the lines of communication are, in that spiritual world. How Michael would even know, about Gabriel’s trouble.

Thus, the two angel remain twenty-one days with the Kings of Persia. If you’re keeping track: so far…in this invisible world…there are kings, and princes, and angels, passing through to men. All taking place in a heavenly world, but in earthly time. For three long weeks…as Daniel fasted on the banks of the Hidikel River…this unseen, angelic confrontation was going on. At the last, Michael prevails with the kings of Persia, and Gabriel continues on his journey to Daniel.

Or to whom did the legion of evil spirits report, who boldly overtook the Gadarene man? These numerous spirits…between three and six thousand of them…all crammed inside of one man. And they seem shocked that the Son of God is here now…before the appointed time…interrupting their mischief. You’re early Jesus. What are you doing here now, O’ Son of God?

On vivid display in the Revelation, is this entire spiritual world, gleaned from the pages of the previous sixty-five books. It is a world highly populated, highly structured, and very active in many different venues. Over today’s seven billion souls, it’s fair to say that there are kings, and there are princes, and…based on what he taught us with Israel…captains of thousands, and captains of hundreds, and of fifty’s, and of ten’s. In such a heaven, an army two-million strong, is not such a stretch.

Perhaps the actual killing elements deserve the more scrutiny here. This trifecta was first used of old; in the destruction of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim. These cities were in putrid decay, under the perverse homosexual spirits that had overtaken their men.

Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous…

Thinking men can hardly ignore the global explosion of homosexuality on today’s landscape. Spreading like wildfire, just ahead of this sixth trumpet. A trumpet: where two-million horliopents spit fire, and smoke, and brimstone from their mouths. Oddly, the same three killing elements that God first used, to smite this perversion.

This was then, and is now, a spiritual infection within each man. All who practice homosexuality today; are infected in their very spirit, by those same rabid spirits that overtook the men of Sodom. Only now, we’ve gone from a fertile plain of Jordan, to a worldwide epidemic.

Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? And now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come.
