Re: Role call, please.

i'm not a pelagian, but i believe that the doctrine of Original Sin was subverted by the RCC for its own ends, and that that doctrine is alive and well in most Protestant churches, and people. It appeals to human nature.

I'm a Christian. I do not follow Calvin, Arminius, Pelagius, Charles Russel, Joseph Smith, or any other cult leader. Calvinism, Arminianism, Wesleyism, Lutherism, Russelism, Smithism... they are all cults of personality rife with false doctrines. I try to follow the apostles of Jesus Christ, because only through them can we know the doctrine (teaching) of Christ, and only Christ's doctrine will save and bring enlightenment.

I suppose, however, based on the choices you gave, that you are looking for a poll of views regarding the subjects of original sin and free will and predestination?

The Bible doesn't teach or recognise the following false cultic doctrines of men:

That all humans are born hellbound with an odious sinful nature.
That God condemns all humans from birth to eternal destruction simply because they are descended from Adam, or simply because Adam sinned so all his posterity are automatically going to hell.
That sin is a disease (like cancer or a genetic defect) instead of crime against God's commandments.
That all humans have a natural, inborn constitutional inability to obey God.
That regeneration comes before faith.
That all human decisions are and have already been certain from eternity past.
That humans have no free will and are constitutionally and necessarily, naturally unable to choose good or evil.
That God decreed in eternity past the specific individuals who would finally be saved, or who would finally be lost.
That no person is able to put their trust in Jesus unless God somehow makes it happen.
That sin is 'inherited' in our dna, bloodstream, or some other physical manner.
That sin exists in our nature as some kind of 'physical' substance.
That Biblically commanded perfection cannot be obtained except upon or after physical death. (Notice, I said BIBLICALLY commanded perfection, not people's erroneous ideas about what constitutes Biblical perfection...)
That true doctrine can only be understood in the writings and teachings of some man or group that came after the original apostles and their writings (the New Testament scriptures), as is commonly believed by the followers of Calvin, Russel, Smith, and others.
That Biblical predestination has to do with individuals' final salvation or final damnation.

Re: Role call, please.

I am an Open Theism leaning Arminian. Calvinism, IMO, just paints God as a ruthless Machiavellian bloodthirsty being. I cannot reconcile the Calvinist portrait of God to that of Christ in scripture.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
