Re: Who here plays organ in church?
Do they still exist??
Hubby repaired organs of all varieties for many years. The market basically disappeared.

Re: Who here plays organ in church?
Actually my wife does, I am looking for a good Hammond organ right now as a matter of fact.
They are still out there, but they can get really expensive depending on what you are looking for.

Re: Who here plays organ in church?
My wife is our main keyboard/piano player. She played the organ for years though. We have a Hammond B3 that gets used regularly. Love what it can add to a church service when (as Godsdrummer noted) played well.

Re: Who here plays organ in church?
We have a B3 Hammond can't be Apostolic without it.

I played the organ for years. I loved the B3, they are the best! I am a decent organ player but my sister can really tear it up

Good! I need some tips, like some licks and riffs to practice for drills, and a basic approach to rhythmic playing with the right hand (chord movements, etc).

LOL... well, I would love to help you, but it is rather hard to do on a forum. I would suggest you go online to Youtube and type in B3 organ tutorials, or runs, or whatever. I remember one guy being particularly helpful to me in the years I played the organ. He had some amazing runs and chords that could be played as fillers, and once you learned them, you could incorporate them into any key. I can't remember his name now, though.. sorry! But it was on youtube, so perhaps just spend some time on there seeing what you can find.
I play by ear mostly, and would just hear something, and then try to pick it out myself. Do you play by ear?
