Re: Experience Community pastors 'Authentic Pursui
I can see where it would be a tough decision for sure. Yet, a huge amount of debt like that is not good. The best option would be to have the money saved up to pay cash for it.
You said exactly what the pastor said!
Around Easter we will be moving to a new larger sanctuary across the hall that will seat 1200-1500 people vs our current seating of ar ound 700. We will keep the 4 weekend services we currently have (Saturday's 5 & 7 pm and Sunday's 9 am & 11 am) so there will be room for further growth. The new sanctuary should give us room to grow to 5-6,000 people over our 4 services before we hit another wall. We are also planning to start some daughter works in surrounding communities.
We have been able to save enough money to finish out the new sanctuary and equip it with sound equipment, lighting, plumbing, electricity, etc paying all cash. The men in the church will do a lot of the finish work themselves.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
