Looks like I get to be the first to respond of which I know little. My immediate response is I see this as a tremendous challenge getting funding outside oneness circles. Media survival is all about paid advertising. It would take a lot of viewers to sell any substantial ads. Marketing outside oneness circles would certainly demand a compromise at some point. I commend his desire and spirit however. He certainly has the pedigree and seems to be an intelligent young man who will eventually succeed in some area.

Re: Oneness Television On Demand - Kickstarter

While the cost of television production as decreased tremendously the goals of this effort would require millions of dollars, not $75,000.

I think a dedicated online streaming channel would be much more attainable. Perhaps a dedicated Youtube channel.

While the means of production have had their cost go down a lot to produce quality "entertainment" and "business" programming would cost a lot in the areas of writing, talent, producing, etc. If the productions are amateurish and not very good people will not watch.

Bottom line is I think it is an admirable idea but he needs to take baby steps with a Youtube channel to build up a loyal viewer base who would make the leap from free basic programming to paying for more sophesticated productions IF they had confidence in what they would be getting based on the Youtube track record.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Wink Re: Oneness Television On Demand - Kickstarter

I agree with CC1.....
Tv is so competitive and most of us are no longer inclined to listen to or watch anything not top quality. We expect a lot and as a rule will not settle for 2nd best.
Blame it on our use of smart phones, tablets, tv.....we can change the channel_____and usually do.

Americans have a short attention span
I will watch or listen to quality but if it doesn't catch my attention and hold it____we no longer have to endure to the end ___of a bad sermon etc.

So, as much as I am 100% Oneness, I doubt a Oneness only tv station can succeed without deep pockets.

If you watch the video, this isn't a regular cable/satellite TV channel. Rather, it's an on demand "channel" app that you would find on Roku, Amazon Fire, Apple TV or other streaming device.

Not sure 75,000 would get very far even in that type of media, unless it won't have much original programming.

Basically those on demand type streaming apps are like YouTube videos, so it's not difficult to do.
