What Was That???!!!
I have a story to tell. It is a true story. There are witnesses, although procuring them at this point would be rather difficult. So I hope you take what I'm about to share as legit, because it's a bit crazy.
Several years ago, before I was married, while I was a freshman in college, I lived on campus in one of the dorms. I had a roommate, who liked to watch a bit of TV before he went to sleep.
I was already in bed, waiting for him to turn off the tube. He wasn't, and I didn't want to make a stink, so I got up and decided to go for a prayer walk.
It was mid-March, and while not too cold here in WI, it was windy. It was about 11pm I guess, if memory serves.
I went for a long walk, praying for this and that, up and down whatever streets I decided to travel. As I was heading back to the campus, I began singing a song that I was teaching to my Sunday School class, from the Word Aflame Power Hour curriculum.
I don't remember the name of the curriculum but it was about plugging into Jesus as our source of spiritual power. In the class, I played the electrician who taught the students how to understand prayer and worship as a means to stay connected to Jesus, just like a cord into an outlet.
The song went something like this:
"Plugged In! Turned On! Generating the Power! Plugged In! Turned On! Generating the Power, in Jesus' Name!"
After singing that song for a few moments, a massive gust of wind, way greater than any of the gusts of wind that had been blowing that night, came right at me. Across the street, the massive gust of wind picked up a street-light right off of it's base and threw the lamp crashing down into the street, smashing it into pieces and causing the street-light to point at me in my direction, on the other side. The massive gust of wind then blew on past me, nearly knocking me over as it went.
To this day, I remain uncertain as to what actually happened. All of the answers in the poll above have crossed my mind. What do you all think it was?
