Holyfield did Spiritual Warfare in the Ring

http://findarticles.com/p/articles/m...52/ai_19092170

This is from a 1997 interview.

Evander Holyfield says God and a good wife helped him whip Tyson - boxer - Interview

"As I walked to the ring, I knew I had to be led by the spirit," says Evander, recalling how he had his entire camp sing "Be Magnified" with him in the locker room before he came out to face Tyson. "As I was going through the crowd, I started speaking in tongues. When I got in the ring, I was speaking in tongues. And after each round, I was speaking in tongues. My cornermen said, `Man, we can't understand you. What are you saying?' I said, `Don't worry about it. I'm not talking to you. I'm talking to God.'"

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths

Articles on such subjects as "The New Birth," will be accepted, whether they teach that the new birth takes place before baptism in water and Spirit, or that the new birth consists of baptism of water and Spirit. - THE PENTECOSTAL HERALD Dec. 1945

"It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves

Was this the second or first fight? My dad said the same thing as we watched the second fight, Steve? If I'm correct he came out to Fred Hammond's "If the Spirit of the Lord" ....before the second fight.

I truly believe that part of the benefits found in the the power of worship .... is increased focus and concentration ... when we put our minds entirely on Him ...

Remember back up Buffalo Bill's quarterback Frank Reich's miracle comeback in the 90's against the Oilers during the playoffs ... down 35-3 when he came in to sub. He sang "In Christ Alone" throughout .... and pulled out the miracle victory.

I met Evander Holyfield a few months after Mike Tyson bit off part of his ear. I actually forgot to look at that and ask him about it.

The memory I have from meeting him and talking to him a few minutes was his handshake. He had incredibly soft hands and a gentle handshake!!!!!

I was expecting a big ole rough hand crushing mine.
