Does receiving the holy spirit change our nature or is our nature changed by our mind learning the word of God?

It works both ways. We are to walk in spirit and in truth. The Holy Spirit is like Gods personal love interacting with his children. As you receive the interaction your heart is stirred toward God. Your faith in him grows giving you desires to conform to his will.

Well, as anyone can see, you can't have love without having the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues. Likewise joy, peace, longsuffering, etc. Anyone else who seems to have these things is just faking it.

The baptism is the evidence of sanctification which is when your nature is removed.

It seems people have different views of receiving the Holy Spirit.

If you mean receiving the Holy Spirit by speaking in tongues, that was a young age for me so I don't remember what it was like not to have the Holy Spirit...
