Okay, so we're sitting in Applebee's restaurant Saturday afternoon, and they are showing all the preliminary stuff for the Kentucky Derby on the TV. This is the first time I've seen a horse race in years.
I thought back to an experience I had years ago while in my early 20's about going to a horse race with a friend, and was sharing with my husband and kids.
I told them how we were there long enough to watch 3 races. Each time they paraded the horses in front of the stands, I would pick a horse that I thought would win. I never bet on them...was just there to watch. To my surprise, each one of those horses won.
At the end of my story, they started parading the horses for the Kentucky Derby in front of the stands. And I picked the one I thought would win.
#20 Big Brown
So we get our food, and I'm halfway watching the race. I see the one that stretches way ahead of the pack, and wins with ease. They finally get to the close up on the horse and it's #20 Big Brown! My daughter and I turned to each other and both our jaws dropped in amazement! I was in total shock and disbelief that had just happened.
Should I rethink my gambling stance when it comes to horse races???

FALSE! that is a lie being put out by PETA.
there was no eveidence the horse was over run or anything else. it was just too bazare
the horse was running fine when it crossed the finish line. something happened as it was jogging to cool down.
PETA is filled with idiots that need to be stuck in a room with a thousand skunks.
