SPIRITUAL LIFE RENEWAL
Rev. Dr. Cheryl D. Elliott
Developing and Practicing the Prayer-Filled Life
Prayer changes your behavior, your conversation,
you gain strength against sin, you will be refreshed,
renewed and revived.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pray the Scriptures, quote the Psalms, the Promises, the Passion
of Christ. “Create within me a clean heart and renew a right
spirit within me” (
Ps. 51:10) “No weapon formed against
me shall prosper…” (Is a. 54:17).
Set aside an hour that will be free of distractions. Read, pray,
listen, write. Set aside ten minutes to thank God for everything
you can think of.
Sit in silence for fifteen minutes listening to God: God will speak through scripture, a song, a thought, an emotion, a quiet still voice……
Take a walk, sit in a park, look at the sky, see flowers, birds,
moon, stars—consider the majesty, the greatness, the awesomeness of God and express those feelings and
revelations out loud to God.
Flash prayers: Riding a bus, standing in a line, in a waiting room, before a meeting, in a group, wherever you are, inwardly ask God
to touch the lives of others with His presence. Pray for whoever
and whatever you see.
Pray three times a day: Morning, Noon, Night.
Ask God to wake you up with a pray on your lips.
Fast from television for a day, a week, a month and use that
extra time to develop your prayer life.
Regularly attend: Prayer Meetings.
Regularly pray with a prayer partner(s).
Regularly pray alone – just you and God.
“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we
may obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of need.”
PRAY AND WATCH HOW YOU
Here is a nice little contemplative prayer piece from the rev, Dr. Holiness Cheryl old buddy.
A lawsuit shows a lack of forgiveness and a need for healing and deliverance.
