Thanks for the link. What makes this story bigger than just home school v. public school is a divorce. "As part of parental custody hearings, a court-appointed guardian..." When you put your kids in the hands of the court to decide what is in their "best interest." You may be giving up more than you know.
I think the court is out of line however the father is probably pushing this, and the court is left to make a decision because mom and dad can't figure it out on their own.

I think the court is out of line however the father is probably pushing this, and the court is left to make a decision because mom and dad can't figure it out on their own.
I agree. The headline should probably read "Court Ruled in Dad's Favor and Not Mom's."
It's not like the court just waltzed into some unsuspecting Christian's home and bussed the kids off. The parents went to the court in the first place.
Yes, I would think divorce and the Dad is what put this in the courts. I seem to remember another case similar to this a year or so ago. Think it may have been in NC?

Both cases judges appear to have ruled without just cause.
California case cited in post #3 link was different, although not generally reported in general media, court was trying to save kids from an abusive situation. Unfortunately it used the wrong legal argument.
Family court judges are given more broad discretion that any other court, HOWEVER, since all the kids in NH and NC were performing above standards and seemed to be well adjusted socially, a good attorney should be able to get them reversed on appeal.
