Incredible Nutritional Information!
I just read a great book by a nutritionist. I know a number of people who were CURED doing the things she says in this book. I have adopted some of her advice personally. Here is her website:

ILG,
For 30 years I've been keen on understanding ways to enhance health with a more educated diet, but provided it's not too inconvenient to follow. Example, started with the McDougal plan, circa 1978, which still infuences me today (and he's still pushing it today.) One problem is, we are naturally omnivores, therefore a dozen legitimate directions to go, (depending upon environment and genetics) all supported in some way or other, successful for someone or other. So I quit reading books about it. Could you please summarize the basic concepts you found in this book? Usually the "breakthroughs" of wisdom that diet philosophers require a whole book to explain can be be well summarized in a few sentences.
Thanks if you can,

Her basic premise is that foul bile in your system causes a host of problems and also that the constant adrenalin rush we experience in our lives causes adrenal fatigue. Her suggestions are basically that we all take care of our adrenal glands by decreasing the adrenalin rushes in our lives. Often, we can't help a lot of it but can help some by getting adequate amounts of rest, (9 hours of sleep or rest per 24 hour period.....meaning laying with your eyes closed), cutting out foods that cause adrenalin rushes like coffee and sugar. And then, she is known as The Bean Queen. She advises eating tons of beans a day and if you cannot tolerate that to use psyllium husk fiber instead. The soluable fiber in these things (and you should use only pure psyllium husk not flavored, sugared stuff) cleans the foul bile out of your system. Fat binds to psyllium husk which takes many yucky things out of your system....cholesterol, hormones etc. She suggests eating beans 6 times a day for people with chronic health issues. The testimonials from people (and I have heard some in person) are amazing!

Thanks, what you describe is a repackaging of the McDougal plan, which I mentioned in my first post. Been doing (or at least believing in) this diet more or less for 30 years. Lately, just bought 700 lbs. of various species of dry beans (my first "prepper" action, as it's my normal diet anyhow.) I'm only suspicious of the "big bad bile" connection, but like Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye would tell each other in "White Christmas", "Everyone's gotta have an angle!"

Yes, but I'm eating into the supply already, so maybe not to be called prepping, except against price increases, which I've noticed already!

Can you explain your angle to me a little more?

Wasn't referring to *my* angle, but was rather suggesting that the big bad bile target (based on your description) is the main spot that diverges from the teachings of McDougal theory. I know little about bile, but it may be a red herring this author uses to distinguish her discoveries (?) from others (in my skeptical world view.) Seems that with a proper diet, BB bile won't be a problem, BUT NEITHER will big bad fat, big bad insulin resistance, big bad what have you..., except when those are problems for reasons other than diet.
Nevertheless, I will read up on bile issues (although I'm apparently observing the described diet that supposedly fixes big bad bile anyhow.) Remember the theory of 20-30 years ago when it was claimed that almost all Americans' intestinal linings (due to poor American diet) needed to be liberated from 5, 10, or 15 pounds of accumulated hardened sludge nastiness? I recall reading (in support of this theory) that the doctor who performed autopsy on John Wayne reported finding 20 lbs of this sludge lining JW's intestines. Funny, my colonoscopy pictures looked shiny and clean, but maybe they didn't poke that thing far enough up there, heh, heh, heh.
Thanks for sharing--I think we agree about the basics. Carbohydrate based food--GOOD for you, especially anything from the ground, from plants, or trees. Any processed sugar to be avoided. Dairy anything is best avoided (except ice cream--just kidding.) Red meat (esp cows and pigs) to be avoided, and all meat should be reduced to requirements--rather than the level of our cultural norm. Eventually, such training has permanent psychological effect due to FEELING better from doing it right. I do relent with the "wrong" foods at times, but I'm trained to also like the good carbs just as much.
