Then it is of no real concern.

Do you think that caring and taking of my familes needs are some how again what God wants? C'mon.

Sure God wants these. But he wants some things more than others. Think about it.
He also wants all the world to be saved, but He cannot disregard truth in order to see them all saved, and that was my comparative point. But if the message preached is not very different, then so what about it all?
But truth is more important than family, brother. Surely you agree.

I, for one, do not feel that the standards issue should be something that would be too big of an issue to make peace over. Whether or not a person will lost or saved if they don't follow them, I don't believe anyone will be lost for following them, unless they have done it in a way the violates and perverts the Word of God (i.e. purity of intent).

I only spoke from a general perspective of VERY divergent belief systems. If that does not fit, then it is of little concern for which church is better. I agree with you, then.

Yeah standards are not the reason behind any of this really.

Re: Going back to the UPC
If returning to the uPc meant retuning to a church that imposed and enforced the typical dress/hair stanards.....no way.
My daughter was 15 when we left all that "stuff". We got out just in time.
I would not raise a kid in an envirorment that fostered such judgementalism in people as did my former upc church.

Re: Going back to the UPC
Some UPC churches do not foster judgmentalism. Some do. There's good and bad ones.
