I do actually agree with this for the most part. However I DO believe that there needs to be a board in place who monitor all financial matters and are made aware of where every offering cent goes. There should never be a situation where the pastor has a combination of full say in money AND feels like he can keep the records secret.

I fully agree with this...our churches in Brazil keep records and give reports...if we have nothing to hide I don't think we will mind giving reports and working together.

Re: Organized Religion Is Spiritual Welfare

I have found out over the years working here the pastors that did not want to be open and give reports usually had something to hide...

The problem is those men of God are not there in that church to witness what is going on. So single leaders having absolute power is a reciple for abuse

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I understand your point here, i really do. However, i see great potential for error when someone from the congregation has some sort of control over the pastor. How is he then free to teach or preach what he feels led to? If he goes into a church where those on the board do not pay tithes and he begins teaching on tithing, it would be easy for the board to move to dismiss him because his teaching is offensive to them.
