No, calling on the name of Jesus is not a magic formula but it is the only name that can be said at baptism which will result in the remission of our sins and thereby prepare us for eternity! Without the name of Jesus called upon at baptism, there is no heaven and only eternal suffering!
Brother, please take back your disrespectful statement! I fear for you!

So, OldPathsII is saying, here, that if a person doesn't have particular words said over them at baptism, they're going to hell. So can I respond??? Admin, anyone out there? CanI respond to this? These are very strong words.

what if the "formula" or "incantation" is a mixture of titles and the name?
what if titles like Father, or Lord, or Son, or Savior are used along with the name?
Is that OK?
or should it be done over again in the (singular) name?

Then there is the theory held by some that it MUST be done in a river where water is flowing by.

We should ourselves be calling upon the name of the Lord not just the one doing the baptizing. The Bible says His name is Jesus.

There's your answer.

Evidently then Paul was just spinning his wheels in Acts Chapter 19?
( Acts 19:5 [KJV])
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
They were believers.
Why not just lay hands on them and let them talk in tongues and walk away believing they were saved.
Is this what Paul preached or not?

Your point and scripture reference do not overturn justification by faith -- they only point to the tradition of the Church that those who come to faith in Jesus will be baptized.
You project much too far into this episode in the Acts story.

No you are not seeing it clearly. I know exactly what it says. I feel though it does not fit your theology.

We didn't do it.....Jesus did....we are only servants. It is amazing though watching all Jesus does. I would not want to miss it for the world.
