Yep, my husband bought me a 12-gauge. He said, "I'd rather you use this. You can just pump it and start shooting. You don't even have to aim it."

Pretty good deal. I really am thinking about this.
The main thing you have to watch for is this. You can't sell the gun for profit. That would require a gun dealers license.

Correction...
If the guns WEREN'T in good enough shape they sent them on in to the police station to get their $100 food card.
The cash buyers were making sure they were buying a good operational gun. The police weren't.

I don't know where you are or what kind of law enforcement you have but here it's the opposite. About 60 percent of our citizens are carrying concealed weapons. The problem we have is; They just passed a new law on carrying concealed. All they have to do is take a one hour class, no shooting on the range and they can get a weapon permit.
I have been a firearms instructor certified by the state academy for twenty two years. I don't think that type of law is good for the community. It won't be long until some idiot shoots one of his children or some other innocent person.
I think in the bigger cities law enforcement is concerned about guns in the hands of the wrong people who they deal with every day. I don't think their approach by buying guns is the answer. I certainly don't think it's some kind of under cover covert operation to take guns away from the American people.
And just a foot note. Please don't include all law enforcement in your projection of how corrupt they are. Get some training and go out and pin on a badge and do your part to make the community better. Jesus needs more of his people in government. And you'll come into contact with more lost people that need your help and advice in life than you can ever imagine.

Re: Guns For Cash In Austin
Why are they wanting law abiding citizens to turn in guns?

Got that right. We use to have a 12 and a 20 gauge, pump, point, and shoot. Now we have a 410 that looks like an assault rifle. It has a clip that reloads, but it's heavy. I'm not as strong as I use to be, but it will do in a pinch. Of course all we shoot around here are varmints.

Another thing is with a handgun, you have to breathe right to shoot straight.

And breathing right isn't one of those things that comes easy when you are facing an intruder.

Yep, a shotgun works well in that situation. Shoot for center mass, and chances are you will stop them.

What happened to God the God of our lives providing for us and protecting us from all harm/ I think we all sang that song sometime in the past. If you want to protect your home at night get an 90 pound Doberman he'll see to it..
If your going to carry a gun or have one to protect yourself you better ask one question. Do I have the guts to take a human life in the drop of a hat without hesitation?
If you don't or you can't answer that question, then you have no business with a gun because more than likely it could be taken away by the perpetrator and used on you or you and your family. Think About!
