Just seems a bit hypocritical when they allow stick dancing or synchronized dancing to be performed.
And, it all becomes a little blurry when dancing and shouting is encouraged.
I don't know of any UPC churches that allow stick dancing or synchronized dancing in the church.
I think the confusion comes in when you see the video with girls in sleeveless low cut tops and dancing, it goes against all the UPC always stood for.

I know of all the major UPC churches that have used "stick dancing" (dowel ministry) and synchronized dancing ("hands of praise" & etc). Even "traditional" and many "hard core" churches have done this, certainly all of the larger ones.
It is a bit out of style right now and it seems most folks are giving it a rest for a bit, but what churches were you attending throughout the late 90's and early 2000's? "Stick dancing" and "synchronized dancing" was everywhere.

Ummm...my church has a youth stick drama team. I'm the director. We use white gloves, white covered sticks and black lights. We do moves with the sticks but it could hardly be called dancing. We've been doing this for several years. It is kinda out of style now but my pastor likes it and so do my kids so we still do a couple songs per year.

Personally I think Bro. Ensey is just upset because he can't master the dance moves from "Make A Move"!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

It's because his choir is having trouble with the "pelvic thrust" the dancers in the background were doing.
I agree with Justin. It reminded me of an iPod commercial.
Did you watch the instructional video for the dance? It is the lead singer from the band and the choreographer from the music video. It is pretty cool. I am aso uncoordinated I would never try those moves though!
(If you watch the "Make A Move" official music video on youtube when it is done one of the options is to watch the "Uh-Oh Instructional Dance Video".)
