I have decided to cut corners and do this the easy way.

God is no respecter of persons.

That's the bottom line.

We are all equal members of the body of Christ, which Christ as the head.

I guess I have always thought of Pastors as being on a higher plane than the regular saint. Looking at Eph 4:11, what say ye on this.
Same standing in regards to salvation before God, but not in function. We are all equal, but our rank depends upon our gifting and authority.

Keith,
Does your authority have jurisdiction in the lives of men?

If so, please give an example of how this was revealed to you and how this operates.

so if someone had the gift of healing they are ranked higher than someone who doesn't? Is it the same in hrs prayed?

So many have said Pastors are privy to more info. Is this outside personal council? If the pastors leaked this info to the lower ranks would this deplete authority?

I totally agree that certain men do hold a higher if you will, position because of their apostolic gift-

the bible does say firstly--"Apostles"

I didn't know Apostleship was predicated on "Gifts"???

I do NOT believe that Christians are "Ranked" differently...I do believe that God expects more from those who accept His Calling on their Life...

There is a greater responsibity placed on them because they are accountable to Him for those placed in thier Care....

and some would exchange care for "underneath"....but I don't agree with that either that's where "ranking" comes from..... I like the term "Care"......

Jurisdiction is a legal term, but authority is faith/spiritual term, people follow those that are gifted because they want to receive from that gift.

People followed Jesus because he spoke with authority and demonstrated it with signs following.

Authority and power gives your credibility and creedance where words or office alone won't do. I would direct your attention to

I Cor. 4:19-20
19 But I will come to you very soon, if the Lord is willing, and then I will find out not only how these arrogant people are talking, but what power they have. 20For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.

Randy,

Gift as in the five fold ministry-Apostle, Prophet, Pastor, Evangelist and Teacher each one is a gift to the chuirch.

The Apostleship is a gift, not something that one aquires through natural means. It is a gift of God.

But there is a ranking/order to the Kingdom, I Cor. 12 details this,

27Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it. 28And in the church God has appointed first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then workers of miracles, also those having gifts of healing, those able to help others, those with gifts of administration, and those speaking in different kinds of tongues. 29Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues[d]? Do all interpret? 31But eagerly desire[e] the greater gifts.

The word first means first, no way around this, there is a ranking in the Kingdom. Again don't read into the text the idea that ranking diminishes value or worth, just importance of function.
