I have seen so many lies posted. The best one is the one Triumphant 1 did his best to combat. You know, the hair cutting party thing?
Prominent members of this board chose to believe the lie and even continue to spread it, even though T1 had totally proved it was false.

My thing is the moderation in dress. I think that Deut 22:5 is speaking of homosexuality because of the word "wear" being used in that passage, which has a definition no other word for "wear" has in the OT. It is saying, "to become or exist as". So, I don't think that you can tell a woman she is going to hell for wearing pants.
However, just my personal opinion, I feel we have done our whole gender a great disservice by moving away from wearing a dress. I just like that and always have, even before I got in church.
In research you will find out that the women involved in politics in France were the ones that started the whole issue of moving away from the dress and then the Rational Dress Society took over from there. Yes, get rid of the binding corset, but don't take it so far. Again, that is just my opinion. I have seen a whole lot change in my life because of outward dress.

I didn't see any way around the three steps either until I studied the bible with help from "Theology In The Church" and "Romans" class with Dan Segraves at CLC.
Societal clothing fashions come and go. A females femininity has nothing to do with the current clothing trends and Deuteronomy 22:5 has nothing to do with pants and skirts.
So what about makeup and cut hair and jewelry. Where are you with that?

So did she wear makeup in person like she did on the album cover?

Re: A Relevant Holiness Message
I have not read the entire thread, but I have 3 things to say.
1. Folks better get the respect for the pulpit back and preach what God says!
2. Folks better be careful in touching God's anointed.
3. You reap what you sow. So shall your harvest be.

I have studied my Bible and I still believe what I believed 25 years ago.

Right, it is about homosexuality.

You are asking someone that used to sell Lancome. I hate makeup. The world forces it on you. But, I do wear base on occasion - organic.
I think that I would want to be careful when the Word says a women's long hair is her glory/dignity. I don't see how we could say it can't be cut. I was reading where it was said, "It may be necessary to reach outside the Greek to say uncut". I don't think Paul would reach outside the Greek. He didn't need to. "Akoptos" in the Greek means "uncut", so Paul had a word he could have used. IMO, when you say shorn or shaven, you are talking about the way a man would cut his hair. That is "cropped short" or "shaved off".
I have never liked jewelry, hate rings, earrings, but I think if we taught moderation it would be more true to what the Word is talking about. It is not saying not to wear it.
People are generally obsessive compulsive about things, so you would simply need to set an example. Nothing wrong with dress codes. If places of business have rules of dress, there is nothing wrong with the church having them as well. We want to be a decent society.

Oh, of course. That's what happened even back in the 70's and 80's when makeup would show up on album covers...before photoshop.
But I thought his explanation was, that she's just that pretty?

Her husband said she didn't wear it, so you are spreading a falsehood. You can't criticize GP now. Toe Torry
I am still up. I must be losing my mind. Can't go to bed until I finish Poe's message.

I totally understand. I had a similiar thing happen with a UPC minister. He was just WRONG! But he is a well respected minister and gets by with it,and if I said more someone might know who I am referring to and it is not my intention to bring them harm.
