Re: Prominent Memphis Area Pastor Resigns
The ministry is supposed to train people to be christians through the week. Sunday meeting is to perfect the saints.

If the only time we pray or read/listen, to GOD's WORD is when we go to church, we are in trouble. If we pray daily in our homes, it won't be hard to pray when we go to church. We're not there that long anyway. We need to take time to pray and read God's Word daily, IF we want to grow spiritually strong and healthy.
Yes, we need to go to church. The pastor where we attend calls it an emergency room. ER's need experienced staff to help with those who come in with desperate needs.
If we have to go to church just to repent and pray through so we can make it one more week, etc./or if we are on staff at the ER, if we have to get ready before we can assist with those who come in with an emergency, we don't need to be serving in an ER/church.
Some thoughts!

The Bible does not support your revisionist interpretation. Every influential person in the book of Acts took their message to the church. It said at least a half dozen times.

The temple they were going to wasn't a church or the church. They weren't going to the temple to meet God nor for the church to meet in a religious environment. They ministered not only in the discarded temple with it's discarded priesthood system, but wherever they could minister. It wasn't about going to a so-called 'house of God' for that didn't exist, it was about taking the message of the gospel, the New Covenant, to everyone including those in the discarded temple.
You're attempting to make the temple a 'church' which of course it's not. There is no temple system in the New Testament church and the apostles sure weren't attempting to establish one.

There's nothing in scripture to support that statement.

"Paul..........in the synagogue of the Jews, AS HIS MANNER WAS" Acts 18:1-2
Just saying Paul did not have the same negative feelings about preaching in synagogues as some do.

In addition to the current "church buildings" issue, I'm also going to confront something that has been bothering me.
I agree with what you say here, but the other day you accused Paul of being incorrect about something. So then, according to you, it's possible that he could be wrong here.

Paul clearly said he was wrong I did not accuse him of being wrong did he ever imply he was wrong about this?

I just went back and re-read what I apparently read over, and you did provide scripture to back yourself up. To you, sir, I owe an apology.

At first I did not post the passage it was an old debators trick. Old habits die hard. No offence taken whatsoever. Have a blessed day.

Re: Prominent Memphis Area Pastor Resigns
The disciples ministered in the religious shrines of their day. The temples were people went for religious training an ceremonies. The word church has multiple meetings. One definition is a building. In order believe your opinion one has to suspend other possibilities. The Bible shows your interpretation is weak.

Re: Prominent Memphis Area Pastor Resigns
I read Ephesians 4:11-13. The role of the ministry is train people to do God's work. Training people builds up the body of Christ and produces mature christians.
