Re: Pope Resigns!!!!!

As most of you know I am NOT a conspiracy buff. I think the simplest explanation for most things is usually the correct one.

This Pope is in very poor health and I don't doubt that he is miserable enough trying to carry out his duties that he would take this extraordinary step. Modern sensibilities do make their way into traditions and I bet this is the case.

You have to wonder how many Popes were either totally senile or so incapacitated that others were really running things behind the scenes. Perhaps he does not want to be one of those.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I hope you are right. There is no way to know for sure. I'd say there is a 50/50 chance either way. I never used to think conspiratorially until I lived through one myself. Now, I can't help but see that there is a chance that things are not always what they appear.

I feel this way about our Supreme Court Justices. Some need to resign, I think at the age of 65!!

Visiting St. Peter's and the Vatican museums again last summer (I had not been there since a teenager) was truly amazing. Particularly the special little known unadvertised archelogical tour we took that had us going under St. Peter's.
That sounds really enjoyable.

Re: Pope Resigns!!!!!

American Cardinals will have unprecedented influence in selecting the new Pope. The Pope increased the number of American Cardinals to 19 and 11 of them will be in the conclave that selects the next pope. That number is only exceeded by the Italian delegation which is 28 in number.

Most likely true, most of the dire predictions of the RCC have come to nothing, in modern times at least.

speaking of the nonsense, isnt there supposed to be a black pope who is supposed to be the last good pope before the bad pope comes in as the Prophet of Revalations?
