Re: Ted Cruz, Con-Con, North American Union...

And let me also add something regarding the H1B visas, since that is another bone of contention for you. LOL!

1) H1b is not an "immigrant" visa

2) 325,000 H1b visa holders (what Cruz asked for in his amendment) is NOT a big number compared to immigration limits in general or compared to illegal aliens.

3) H1b visa holders are not illegal aliens

4) Cruz only used that number in an amendment fight to help stop the Gang-of-Eight bill. It's not a number he's asking for in his immigration plan. It was purely a way to show that the Dems didn't want quality immigrants.

5) H1b visas are not being used to replace American workers at any significant level. A few corporations have abused the H1b process like that, and they've been called out on it. Disney even changed its mind with part of the layoffs because of that reaction.

6) Legal workers and quality immigrants who speak English and have employment are not the problem. The problem is other visa types that offer refugee status and even immigration status to poor, unskilled, non-English speakers who will not assimilate.

7) We take in over a million "immigrants" each year. (H1b visa holders are not counted among them due to Item 1, above). A huge number of them are "refugees" whom Obama is importing to destroy our culture. These so-called refugees are people who will not assimilate, are not well educated, do not speak English, and do not like (and in fact many actively hate) America.

8) Those refugees will get green cards almost immediately, without having to go through any of the expense and wait and paperwork that "real" immigrants have to deal with.

Cruz is correct on this issue. He knows the numbers, and he knows that we do need more quality immigrants and legal resident workers, and we need to stop giving permanent resident status to people that are not qualifed to emigrate to America.

Please also note that many H1b visa holders, who come here from countries where they get good educations and are not usually anti-capitalism, are the kind of people who actually WANT to go back home after being here a few years, so they can return to their families. Their work experience here helps them to get good jobs in their country of origin.
