We didn't see it until the entire master bathroom and bedroom were pretty much destroyed. Thankfully we had homeowners insurance and they were concerned enough about mold that they insisted we get a hotel room until they could pull out the old carpet and dry and treat everything.
Reminds me of the time long ago when I was topping up the baptistery at Church before Sunday evening service---and forgot that the water was running!

Service starts and people are running around trying to figure out what was happening.
Water was pouring in through the light fixtures in the SS room.

Thankfully there was no lasting damage.

Ron,

I have been told that back in 1989 at the dedication service for the current Sanctuary at Christ Church Nashville there was a really funny water disaster.

Apprently some pipe directly above the pulpit in the ceiling was leaking and it built up a lot of water until suddenly something gave way and a giant flood of water poured down directly on the pulpit. The ceiling is probably three or four stories high at that point so I am sure it made quite a splash. I need to see if they were videotaping that event. I would like to see that.

The bible says to torch a house infested with mold, if I remember correctly.

Did you lift the carpet and position some fans to blow air under it? It is going to smell awful if you don't.
