I am in your camp although I hate the AL... I have been a NL fan all my life and I have always hated the Yankees. It broke my heart that a good Oklahoma boy like Mickey Mantle had to play for a team made up of scrubs like Maris and the like!

While I root for the Red Sox, my first love are the Dodgers, so my hat is with the NL.

I'm sorry. It is nothing personal.. I have just always been for the underdog and that description has definitely never fit the Yankees!

Fact is that I have been a Houston fan since they were the Colt 45s and before that I rooted for the Cardinals and before that I wasn't.

I was the only kid on my Little League team that didn't fight over #7. I preferred Johnny Bench's #5 after he won Rookie of the year in 1968. I caught for my entire career ( age 7 to 13; 1966-1974) so I was partial to catchers and he was a NLer so that really made it right. One of the first catchers for the Colt 45s was my cousin twice removed, John Bateman! Must be in the blood!
