I was raised without tv and was just fine...
Believe me, there have been times I have debated over whether or not to show the tube the curb. But, I like watching tv, especially while I am online. I have learned how to multi-task by having the tv on while posting.

Which is the riskiest behavior, driving a semi over thin ice, or appearing on television? How can they even think of praying to God when they know they are being filmed?

Sister, that is half the fun! I keep expecting to hear a huge "CRACK" and then part of one of them trucks go under. At least someone would be right there to save whoever it was though. They have said anyone that falls in has seconds to get out of the water and then seconds again to get out of the cold before it's too late. Can you imagine?

My brother in law has been watching this and wants to fly up there for the two month "season" -all to make a quick 30 grand ya understand eh?

You know, the constant bleeping just doesn't bother me that all. These are some very rugged men doing things that 99% of us could not and in an environment that is constantly 10-40 degrees below zero F.

I have taped this to watch, it is amazing that they DARE to do this, but I guess someone has to do it., I know that I probably would not, although it might be interesting to tag along just for a bit...especially during the "white outs"...even more amazing is that some of the men doing this have done so for about 25yrs!!!!
AND survived! I know that I would not survive the below-zero temps for long at all...and surely anyone falling into the ice would NOT survive, period.

Good money in it I bet..just as with Deadliest Catch, yet another thing I doubt I'd do, but it does seem exciting! Wow they better NOT have "motion sickness" alright!

YES any of the above jobs IS a "life or death" venture, I guess they figure the $$ is good enough to risk their lives..'cause at least their families will be well taken care of no matter what.
Myself? I would NOT allow MY husband to do anything like this, period - I don't care that much for money that I'd trade a life., I agre that Mike Rowe should narrate all such shows, we also LOVE "Dirty Jobs" we have those taped as well.

I can't say that I even NOTICE the "bleeping" lol ..

OH so far I've seen that there have been only TWO episodes of ICE TRUCKERS I wonder why and if there will be more, anyone know?

Well, there have been more than two episodes....

and I have a question...

why cant they get these supplies to the mines when the ice road, is say...water? They couldnt use a boat or something? Is the water not deep enough for the weight of the cargo?

I guess there is more to it than meets the eye.

I agree that they are very rugged men doing a couragous thing..but the bleeping does get to me. Especially that one guy, is it Hugh? He's every other word F this...I mute him when he's talking.

That other guy is just as rugged and he never cusses. Alan or something....

and about going up there to make a quick 30K, I bet thats what that one rookie on the show thought, until he landed in the ditch on his first run - all b/c he's so cocky.

You have to understand by brother in law. He is not cocky at all, but sometimes doesn't think things through.....
Another plan of his was to go crab fishing to make the same amount.....
He is one to say "You mean I could get $$$ if I gave a kidney? How much could I get for both of them?"
