I started to reply right off the bat and then decided I should digest it a little. LOL!

I think I understand what he's saying. And it's a good post overall.

The truth is, the same dynamics exist in every organization/denomination eventually. Name me one that's effective at all and that has any decent sized membership and that has any kind of effective or strong leadership at all and you're going to find a lot of the same problems.

It would be great though if the leaders would be big enough to admit it when mistake and error in judgment has occurred and then back up and at lest try and remedy the problem.

The cure couldn't be any worse than the disease, could it?

Of course, according to Elder Epley, neither was God. Therefore, I must be in good company.

It is my understanding that those who get out will most likely remain independent. I don't think any meeting halls have been rented, and no elections are scheduled -- other than what has been done officially by the UPCI.

Sorry to break up your party.

I must have missed the memo too.

Maybe we aren't conservative enough.

It would be true, yes. That's my opinion anyhow.

The double standard is worse than a farce.

The problems are more severe and significant than even this double standard.

There are people who have been driven away from God by Pharisees posing as 'Apostolics.' Countless others have been hurt, injured, or spiritually or motivationally handicapped in some way. People have lost their confidence, had their trust violated, and souls are headed for hell because of it. The offended aren't going to take their children back to the place where they got their first religious slap in the face.

Guys like you and me defend conservatism because we see the good in it, and probably live proper overcoming spirit-filled lives. It's uncomfortable and unnerving to face and acknowledge the negative aspects associated with our particular set of beliefs and lifestyle selections.

With over 50% saying no to this resolution this year.

Carry on.
Do you think the results of the survey will reflect the vote at GC?

First, the survey may contain participants who will not be present to vote at GC. The scientific accuracy of the poll is dubious since the questions were formulated by a committee of preachers versus polliung professionals.

Second, with only 2,400 or so filling out the survey, and probably close to4,000 voting ministers at GC, I would say this vote could be dramatically different either way. Also, if some heavy hitter like Anthony Mangun, Jeff Arnold, Rex Johnson or Mike Williams stood on the conference floor and made a moving appeal to the conference, there may be many who were riding the fence who would be convinced otherwise and change their vote in favor of resolution 4.

I say this survey doesn't really give anyone a clear direction as to how the voting will go. The only survey that counts is that vote on election day.

I could not agree more.

This is a sad conundrum.

I have seen the end of most who jettison our way of life, and I don't want to go there.

But I also see the harm perpetrated by some who call us "Brother."

That leaves us in a precarious place.

This is where you might be able to more fittingly apply the word 'farce.' Although it's fairly macabre humor from my perspective.

Once the anchor is yanked, it's pretty tough to draw a line in the ocean and claim that the ship will not be allowed to drift past it.

Just remember, the invalidity of the teacher doesn't invalidate the principles. Newt Gingrich declared marital infidelity was morally unacceptable during a time when he was engaged in an extramarital affair. His hypocrisy doesn't affect the truth of the immoral nature of adultery one whit!
