I didn't realize how poor I was.
Almost 80 percent of the folks here have incomes greater than I.

My income is a pension from GE after 32 years plus my wife and I both draw Social Security. We are representative of a lot of folks who live on fixed or unchanging income while costs and expenses increase every year. For example our cost for Medicare plus a supplemental health insurance policy (a pretty good one and it is subsidized by GE) is almost $5000 this year and I'm sure it will go up next year. Also lots of other stuff will cost more next year so we actually have a "shrinking" income.

Depending on how you define "regular", I think the vast majority of Americans would fit the catagory, so the median income for internet users should not vary much from the general stats.

Also, we do have participants here on AFF who do not have a computer/internet at home.

This is nobody's business and very few would truly post their annual income...those that brag about the multi-millions they make are probably liars...so what is the purpose of this thread except to waste valuable time You could be working and making money!

If the vast majority of Americans fit the category, that is new. I've always heard that internet polls are skewed. I could be wrong, does anyone have statistics?

Well, they used to be very skewed because many of the poor did not have internet access - i am just saying this is much less true than it once was, though still might be a factor to a lesser degree.
