To some here to have a huge honking TV screen in the Family Christmas Card photo states they have a problem with more than an AS. To some here to have worldly looks, and activities states they have a problem with more than the AS. To some here who openly embrace and en friend a Trinitarian they are missing the basic doctrine. Somethings are absolute, and the AS is very vague.
At least it was the last 6 times I signed it..... coming up on the 7th this year.
No stone was received on my end. I was just asking... it seemed that you had doubts about my stand or something, that's all.
And I agree, the AS can be reasonably fit to fit a range of sizes. I think that's what's needed.
But those who call brothers "liars" when they are stretching the same garment should be tapped upon the shoulder and asked about it. IMHO.
Nobody here loves you as much as I do. Except maybe that MrsBOOMM. When'd you get married? Last time I was paying attention to things we were all single, good looking and each had a full head of hair.

I was married in 85 and Laura came in 86.

I fully expect the affirmation statement to be removed.
However, I cannot for the life of me figure out why it is such a problem for some people. You sign the very same thing when you get license in the first place.
I know people don't do it much anymore, but when I was a kid, we used to say the Pledge of Allegiance every day. Why does it hurt to reaffirm once every two years that you still believe what you believed when you joined?
I'm sorry, but I just don't get why the "AS" is a "blasted" "infernal" thing. Someone help me out here.
People do not like accountability...........pure and simple as that..........

it is the "Infernal Document"
"blasted" is an adjective.
and it is because the intent was to exclude part of the UPCI that had been a part of the UPCI from day one. (we are talking PCI vs Water Spirit).

I suspect the next 2 GCs will be pretty quiet. If I were the guy putting the strategy in place, there wouldn’t be a confrontational resolution for 3 years. Then in year 4, I might approach the notion of a resolution to study getting rid of the Infernal Document.

that would make just to much sense, wow, there is enough good men to see the error of that silly statement any way, not that it matters to me, i never signed it, one of the reasons i left, dt

Because in theory it was to Unite the fellowship, but it divided the group. OR Maybe that was the point was to weed out the progressive ones. I believe that there would be alot more members in the Fellowship/Organization if the blasted, infernal thing never came up. IMO
While this was not addressed to me personally, I would like to comment on the bolded part above.
Why is it that so many think that bigger is better? If the org were bigger, why do you seem to think that would be better?
American thinking like this is absurd and has caused multitudes of problems for so many people. If we had a larger government, would that be better? More taxes to support it? (Dues were raised not so long ago.)
More people to man the posts. (Again, more money needed to do what is already being done.)
More money being siphoned off of missionary funding to support overly lavish lifestyles here at home. (Seems to me that that money could be better utilised supporting missonaries instead of buying someone here a new car or house.)
There are I am sure more things that could be listed than these.
Bigger is not always better. It only means that someone else is going to get the money that others so desparately need.
