Bill Clinton’s Presidency saw a reasonable budget ending with surplus. Under the Clinton Presidency welfare rolls dropped and welfare was reformed with the support of the Republican congress. President Clinton signed NAFTA into law even though Labor took a clear stand against it. Clinton was hardly a socialist. In contrast Federal regulations and federal spending has exploded under the Bush Administration. But I still don’t see either one as “socialist”. What I see is that President Clinton invested more in domestic programs and subsidies for tax payers and struggling businesses. Under President Bush more of our money is invested in overseas markets and unbelievable subsidies have been given to a select group of corporations who aren’t struggling with very few subsidies being given to domestic programs.

If I were forced to have to choose which was more socialistic...it'd be President Bush.

I have to say, I think the media gave him a HUGE pass when he fell asleep during MLK II's message - anyone see that pic of him slumped over in a chair ?
At least he went, was all I was going to say, except the thread seemed to change course and was no longer discussing Clinton going to N. Jones church.

Anyway...get that pic, that sounds hilarious!

That's why!!

I don't care how internationally known he is. He's made a mockery of what I hold sacred and I refuse to validate his behavior by showing up at something just because he happens to be present. I really don't care that he is a former president. There are other prominent figures that I would feel the same way about. But I have to tell you, Clinton is probably right at or near the top of my list of people who disgust me.

Not to mention that will always be associated with his Presidency.

Re: Bill Clinton was guest Spkr.@ Apostolic ch. Su

You know, I couldn't care less about BC's philandering. If we judge people by sexual immorality, and vote accordingly, you'd probably be better off staying home. (Instead of voting)

Are these people Christians? Why would we expect them to live up to some biblically moral ideal if they aren't? And quite frankly, I think Bush has done more damage in his presidency than Clinton did by messing around with Monica in the oval office.

I voted for Bush, and he has completely disappointed me. He has morphed from good ol' Texas boy into a puppet on a string with no voice of his own, who parrots his own speeches over and over to the point if you listen to state of the union address 2003, you may as well chalk it up that you won't need to listen to 2008, since it's all the same rhetoric...over and over and over and over and....

I'm not sure what happened to Bush along the way, but at some point he has become powerless and ineffective.

Bill Clinton doesn't concern me at all. If he wants to attend church every now and then, then I say that's great. No matter what he has done, we would be honoured if he visited our church on Sunday morning, and so would the rest of you, no doubt. Or would you turn your head and walk right on by him with your nose in the air? Uh-huh, I didn't think so.

Dora,I'm no Bill Clinton fan but you'd be surprised of all the politicians who have moral issues. the only difference with Bill is he got caught.

how many republicans have gotten caught just last year? mark fooley was caught texting under age boys, senator craig was caught soliciting in a restroom, and i could go on.

George washington and Thomas Jefferson had many children by their slaves/

Only to find out many years later how big of a philander JFK was-but in his day the press kept his indiscretion to themselves.

Another womanizer was MLK-he was with another woman in a hotel room the day he died, but they never talk about that do they??

I believe the thing with Bill was every detail was out there and was just a little to in our faces! Plus his famous " I did not have sex with that woman" remark that will go down in infamy.

How Bill manages to go through his fiascoes looking untouched and unruffled is his charm. I heard this man is incredibly personable and likable! He is a great people person. He is not boring that is for sure and was a better communicator by far than our current fearless leader.
