Additionally, the Men's Ministry Director for Tennessee is already making plans to gather a group to go assist in their recovery efforts an, ironically, it appears that Renda's Pastor is working in cooperation with this effort... a fact that was openly noted on another forum for some who post there, too, to see.
Offers of help have come from everywhere. Offers to let them utilize buildings have come from various directions... they chose the AG because it's practically in their backyard of their now destroyed place of worship.
Amazing how quickly it becomes an anti-UPC rant. Especially in light of the fact that help WAS offered from multiple UPC groups.
Sad.

Most were commenting on the fact that an AOG offered them their building where they could hold services.
Glad to see your back!

Well Steady, Sir. good to see ya. I already apologized Brother. I do not have to plead my case. I should have checked before talking so much. But the fact I was not bashing the UPC. It is soo funny to see the company-people stand up and point claiming a UPC basher. I do not go to a UPC church, but my family does and I do not bash them. I do not agree with alot of the teachings about stuff, but not a basher. If you have read my post in the past you will clearly see that I am for personal convictions no matter how tight. I realize that everyone has their own walk and not the same walk I have. So if you were offended I am sorry brother.

Thanks for the 'welcome back' folks.
I'm sorry, but I can't really reply to what you did of didn't say as I only skimmed through a few posts... and that just long enough to see the crosshairs aimed on innocent people.
I actually don't know who said what.
Thanks again for the welcome back.

It was posted here too that the Cupples offered their church (my pastor), so I don't understand what is ironic about that.
Also, this was blown way out of proportion by some that felt it was bashing. If you had taken time to read the thread you would see that all was said was too bad the UPC church didn't ask them first to use their building. No one is saying the UPC isn't willing to help. Why do some jump to such conclusions?

Re: GREAT NEWS - Jackson, TN
Brother Steadfast... We are so glad you are back...
What I think is wrong is that no one really knows unless they have talked to them (This would be Dan and Steadfast and Sherri church person ) or live there (Renda, Tamor, Sherri and Dans family) therefore... I dont think anyone other than these really have much of a say... so now... I can blame it on the meds and the fact that I am doped up right now cuz I had work done on my back and I can let everyone pile on me because I can take it because in the morning when it all wears off I dont care...
So now its over.. No one called no one a liar and if you aint one of those up there in those names I dont think you know too much bout it... so that being said...No one was bashing no one either! It was a good conversation that some took a couple of comments the wrong way... lets get back on track guys... If you were standing in front of Bro Lance right now would you be having this conversation??? This is a church that is hurting and grieving right now... lets rejoice for them!
SOMETHING AWESOME HAPPENED!!!!!!!!!!!
This church now has a place to worship! God is gonna do something wonderful because this is a wonderful church and he didnt allow it to be destroyed for nothing good to come out of it! How much ya wanna bet it will one of the fastest growing on fire revival churches in the UPC... and better yet we claim In Jesus name that this 1200 seat building they have been given the use of will be full before their new building is built and half of it will be the AOG people who have been filled with the holy ghost and baptised in Jesus name so there GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!

If you saw Bro. Lance's interview on CNN he's taking it as something very awesome! Great attitude and great interview!

Re: GREAT NEWS - Jackson, TN
This is a wonderful gift that the AG church has given to the UPC church. God's people working together for the good of all of God's people. Isn't that awesome!!
~~~~~
Now without opening a can of worms again, but only asking a curiosity question: I noticed that someone said there was another UPC church 2 blocks away from this one. Is that typical? I know in alot of places if there was already one church (of any denomination, not just UPC) in an area, another church of the same denomination in that close proximity would be frowned upon.
Like I said, this is just a curiosity question on my part. NOT a reason to squabble!!
No conclusions being 'jumped' to... I just responded to the facts made evident by the first few 'ready, aim, fire' posts I saw headed that way. It's an exercise in futility to infer that the UPC wasn't being swung in a negative light as a result of the thread. Even the posters see where it was driven and responded to it.
The 'irony' was the fact that this was openly stated on another forum that help WAS offered and it was never clarified on this forum by those who saw it on that forum.
As to your Pastor? I thought the gentlemen I met at General Conference (DeaconBlues) was your Pastor? I didn't realize that the Cupples were your Pastor now.
After spending a short time with Sis. Sherri I could quickly see how they would offer to help. She seemed precious.
