Christian Tabernacle
105 Old Winchester Rd. Decherd, Tennessee
SERVICES Sunday morning 10:00 AM
Sunday night 6:00 PM

Pastor Ricky Taylor
“Preach….
JESUS” Scripture Text – I Corinthians 1:21-24
Have you ever wondered why the church is in the world? Is it to praise and worship? We will do that in heaven. The thing we can do here that we will not do in heaven is to reach the lost. So, the prime objective of the church is simply “Preach Jesus.”
The role of preaching Jesus is not limited to pastors and evangelists. Every believer has been called to let his light shine and to be salt. Every believer is to proclaim the good news – Jesus saves!
Jesus Is The Message
Have you noticed how easy it is to talk to strangers about the weather or children or the job, but not to talk about Jesus?
But, Jesus is the message…
* To the lost, Jesus is the way.
* To the lonely, Jesus is the friend
that sticks closer than a brother.
* To the child, Jesus is the Father
to the fatherless.
* To the sick, Jesus is the Great
Physician.
* To the addicted, Jesus is the
Deliverer.
* To the broken hearted, Jesus
heals the heart.
* To the dying, Jesus is the
resurrection.
* To the sinner, Jesus is the
Savior.
* To the church, Jesus is the Lord.
Jesus is the message. He is the answer. He is the hope for the hopeless, help for the helpless, and balm for the wounded. Buddha says, “There is a way,” Muhammad says, “Look for the way,” and Confucius says, “Seek the way,” but Jesus says, “I am the way.” Preach Jesus!
There Is Power In The Message
Paul said, “I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God unto salvation…”! The book of Acts teaches us that God works most powerfully through churches that preach Jesus. Preaching Jesus changes lives, as Peter saw on the day of Pentecost when 3,000 souls were saved. It wasn’t the message of Darwin that changed my life. It wasn’t the message of self-help or democracy that brought peace to this troubled soul. No! It was the message of Jesus. It was the message of the healing stream that flowed from Emmanuel’s veins. Preach Jesus! There is power in the message. Power to open prison doors of sin. Power to lift the condemnation. Power to overcome guilt.
We Have Been Empowered To Preach The Message
In Acts 1:8, Jesus said, “Ye shall receive power… and ye shall be witnesses…” God didn’t give the church power simply to shout. He gives power to be witnesses. The power of God is never nearer than when you talk about Jesus. Preach Jesus to that neighbor whose husband left her. Preach Jesus to that addicted soul. Preach Jesus! You have the authority to be a witness.
Jesus is the message; there is power in the message and you are empowered to preach the message. Preach Jesus!

What!?!
Nobody's proud of their church? While Christian Tabernacle isn't necesarily my home church (too far to drive), it would be, if I were closer. But, I am proud (is it a sin to be proud in this sense?), of the brother who pastors this church. Bro. Rick is a fine brother, pastor of a fine, but small, church. Like Elisha, he has picked up his dad's mantle, and carries on the work of the Kingdom of God. No, he isn't his dad, as Elisha wasn't an Elijah. Bro. Rick has a different style, a different "flair", yet the ends results are the same. The word is preached, souls are being reached, and people are being blessed. I considered Bro Taylor (Ricks dad) as my pastor. And, I guess I do the same with Bro. Rick (and that's not just because we share the same first name).

You request people to post the information for the church that they are a part of and then don't post your own?!?

Yeah... bad ain't I? The truth is, I don't have a church.
1. I am not a pastor. Nor am I a preacher. Use to be an evangelist, but that ship has sailed.
2. I don't have a church that I am a part of. Not as yet, anyway. I live in an area where there are no Oneness churches to speak of. I visit churches as I can, but there isn't one in my area that I feel comfortable with being apart of. Going tomorrow to see if I can do take some steps to rectify that situation. Need a good man or woman to come to this area to start a good Oneness Church.

Well, I suppose we'll let you slide on this one. I can certainly understand where you are coming from, though. I am not in a position to be involved with a ministry either. We recently departed from an assembly that was in a decent drivable distance from our house because we felt it was pointless to continue there. There is nothing else so close to our house that we are aware of and see as a possibility. Any further possibilities would be between 30 to 45 minutes to get to...and finances are tight to afford the gas that would take a few times a week.

Re: Your church info....
OneAccord, hello--I know more about you than you do me because I am a long time lurker and rarely post. Long story short, I grew up UPC and now I'm not. But I miss the worship and have a hard time with the lingo of the trinity churches and the way they baptism. What part of AL do you live in? I live in Pulaski, TN and there are no oneness churches close to me either.
Blessings
