It's mind-blowing.
I believe God could do it. I'm just interested as to what you all think about it.

I try not to get into the "it could have meant" theology and just take it as it reads.
I will say I am enjoying the different ideas.

I think the Bible leaves no doubt.
19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. 20 Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered. 21 And all flesh died that moved upon the earth, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of beast, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth, and every man: 22 All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, of all that was in the dry land, died. 23 And every living substance was destroyed which was upon the face of the ground, both man, and cattle, and the creeping things, and the fowl of the heaven; and they were destroyed from the earth: and Noah only remained alive, and they that were with him in the ark. 24 And the waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days.
18 And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth: and Ham is the father of Canaan. 19 These are the three sons of Noah: and of them was the whole earth overspread.
32 These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.

Re: Did the Great Flood Cover the Whole Earth?
If you don't believe it was the whole earth, did God just not create it all when He created it? Noah couldn't see the earth if it was under water anyway. Hey, maybe whoever translated the scriptures just put that word WHOLE in there to mess with peoples minds.
Good grief.

Is every word meant to be taken in the absolute literal sense?

How do you chose which part to take literally and which part not to?
