Question Are we too BUSY

Since being in Texas, more so than in Florida or Indiana, I have struggled with being too busy and it appears others are too busy to make time for true fellowship. With individual saints and Pastors also. Everyone is so busy that there is no relationships/friendships, and no room for any. Everyone says, "Let's get together this week," and then never call.

It is funny, I feel God is a really 'relational' God and it seems that people have less time for each other or disciplining others because they are so 'busy' in their own world.

Are we too busy? Is this a tool of satan to destroy relationships and break down friendships and/or homes?

How do others feel about this? Do we really not care about others because we are so self-involved in our circumstances and our own lives?

Just Curious,
Rhoni

Re: Are we too BUSY

I have time for fellowship but I don't really have anybody too much to fellowship.

I think people care but not enough to make a sacrifice.

This is so sad Brother Scott. We have invited lots of couples over and asked people to go out to eat but it is usually never reciprocated. Oh well...

On my thread about "fellowship" Sherri wrote that they are too busy for fellowship and that other churches on her city were the same. Seems sad. When I was growing up we used to have a once a month fellowship with all the other PCOG churches (3) in town. We would have a joint service and pot luck supper and sometimes special singing group. Sounds ol fashion now.

But I think...what is the sacrifice? Relationships are all there is. This is the first time I haven't made a dozen or more friends. I have been in Texas two years this month and the only friends I have made are those from AFF that i have met and travelled to see, or they have seen me.

The churches I have been to are very closed off. They have the friends they have always had, do things the way they've always done them, and do not think about including others. When you go out of your way to try to get friends together it is so diffiuclt and even if they say they will do it they beg off before it actually takes place.

I guess Texas is an animal all her own. Not very friendly. They are a bit arrogant and snobbish. Just my observation out of the past two years.

Blessings, Rhoni

Since there are so many splits off UPCI or new organizations, there is very little organized fellowship meetings. I grew up with monthly Youth ralleys which we loved to take the church bus and go to. We had quiz meets, we had brush arbor meetings, sectional ralleys, and Christmas banquets. Did I say Campmeeting? We had church all day long at Buckeye Lake...now they really go camping...how boring is that? LOL

Now, if they do have a banquet - they are boring and poorly organized. Weird...I must be getting old...I long for the good old days.
