They are probably asking - who in the world is Paul?

For those of you pondering how different a letter written by Bernard would be....

I give you....

Dear Washington Post,

As a Pentecostal pastor, theologian and educator, I am disappointed by Pat Oliphant’s recent cartoon that ridicules Pentecostal beliefs and practices and portrays God in a way that is blasphemous to Pentecostals as well as many other Christians. Under the First Amendment, you have a right to publish such a cartoon. Nevertheless, it displays ignorance of Pentecostal beliefs, and it expresses prejudice against Pentecostals because of their religious identity. It is a clear example of bigotry. Although you likewise have a constitutional right to publish a racist cartoon or a cartoon ridiculing Muslims, I do not think you would do so. To be consistent with your own standards, you should apologize.

Sincerely,
David K. Bernard

Ok, Ladies and Gentlemen - WE HAVE A WINNER!

I like this one the best. Then JJ's. And not NW's at all. Just personal opinion!

Re: Is This Blasphemy - Washington Post?

I personally care so little about the WP that I didn't bother to write.

However, if you were offended by Wilson's letter, it's good thing you weren't around to hear some of the dialogues Jesus had with the Pharisees.

You would have REALLY been offended.

God bless Brother Bernard, Brother Jones, and Brother Wilson, all of whom communicated very clearly their indignance at the cartoon.

I personally wasn't offended by NW's letter, I just thought it was rendered ineffective by some of his statements. Whereas Bro. Bernard addressed the issue in the most concise way, Bro. Jones also addressed the issue, refraining from the personal insults.

Offended by NW's letter? No. Disappointed? Yes.
